Job Title: ICT Risk Officer
Reports to: Head of Risk
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The IT Risk Officer will assume a pivotal role in safeguarding Brac Uganda Banks’s digital assets, emphasizing the preservation of confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information. This role encompasses the evaluation, analysis, and mitigation of ICT-related risks, along with the formulation and execution of robust risk management strategies and policies.
MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assess and analyse the bank’s ICT systems, applications, and processes to identify vulnerabilities and potential risks.
• Regularly review bank’s systems and banking application user rights and develop/update user right matrices.
• Maintain criteria for assessing applications and systems to measure compliance with company policies, procedures, standards, security training programs, technical infrastructure, and development efforts against internal compliance baselines.
• Analyse existing ICT risk management processes and recommend improvements to ensure a clear separation of operational and compliance responsibilities.
• Collaborate with IT teams to assess and evaluate new technologies, systems, ICT projects, IT vendors and applications for potential risks and vulnerabilities.
• Analyse database activities and user actions to detect and investigate any unauthorized or suspicious activities.
• Review the implemented security controls and hardening measures for database systems.
• Conduct training sessions for staff, emphasizing ICT risks and mitigation measures related to operations, strategy, and compliance.
• Develop and implement ICT risk management policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Assist with assessments of vendors and business contracts for evaluation and tracking of risk changes.
• Prepare and present detailed reports on ICT risk assessments, incidents, and mitigation strategies to senior management and stakeholders.
• Monitor ICT activities to ensure adherence to set policies, procedures, and guidelines governing risk identification, assessment, control, and overall risk management processes.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics or Information Systems.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To Develop, implement and monitor the Bank’s Business Growth strategy in line with organizational goals and objectives whilst ensuring that the strategy is successfully generating and contributing to the growth of BRAC Uganda Bank Limited’s Assets and Liabilities. |
MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Strategy.
• Develop and implement Business Growth Strategy to achieve the Bank’s strategic objectives in alignment with the mission and vision of the bank.
• Develop strategic collaborative partnerships to maximize and add value to the growth of the bank while mitigating the risks and exposure of its target market.
• Ensure that the strategy, business plans, budgets along with the policies/procedures are timely communicated to the respective staff and other stakeholders
• Monitor the departmental performance against the strategic plans, clearly identifying performance gaps and supporting management team members to put in place plans to address gaps.
2. Business Growth
• Drive initiatives to maximize cross-selling opportunities for the benefit of the bank in an effective and efficient manner.
• Deliver on overall management of the department operations ensuring growth of the loan book and portfolio quality management.
• Drive the management of BUBL credit processes end to end from customer recruitment, loan processing or underwriting, credit information review and reporting, recovery, all functions providing lending support in the department, and formulation of loan policies, procedures and processes to ensure the overall good quality of BUBL’s lending portfolio
• Conduct relevant market intelligence and competitor analysis to ensure timely interventions/strategies to drive growth of the bank’s assets and liabilities
• Spearhead the BUBL’s expansion into new strategic markets and implement go-to market strategies to target market segment that will result in quantifiable business support initiatives in alignment with BUBL objectives.
3. Savings mobilization
• Develop deposit mobilization strategy and plans to include: (Grow the deposit base, Grow customer numbers, Relationship management, Customer Experience, delivery channels and technological innovations.
4. Digital Financial Services
• Drive innovation and implement and use digital delivery channels to develop and deliver outstanding products, customer experience, increase organizational efficiency and find the right balance between tech and touch for BUBL’s customers.
• Think creatively and implement new uses for technology to address access, usage, literacy, security and other barriers of BUBL’s customers

| • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Economics or related fields. • At least Ten (10) years’ banking experience, 5 of which should be at management level. • Master’s degree is an added advantage. Job Title: Legal and Governance Manager

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To support and deputize the Head of Legal & Company Secretary in managing the Bank’s legal and governance framework. The role encompasses oversight of legal risk across the Bank, supervision of Legal Officers, and operational support in strengthening institutional governance, including Board administration, statutory compliance, policy governance, and regulatory reporting
MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide day-to-day legal advice and oversight to internal stakeholders, supporting the Head of Legal in minimizing legal risk across the Bank.
• Provide oversight on litigation and threatened claims against the Bank in collaboration with external counsel.
• Guide the review, negotiation, and drafting of contracts, credit documents, and other legal instruments.
• Monitor statutory and regulatory compliance, flagging emerging legal risks to Management.
• Support disciplinary and recovery committees with legal input and document review.
• Review legal opinion memos before escalation to the Head of Legal & Company Secretary.
• Prepare periodic legal department reports for Management and Board-level review.
• Support the Head of Legal & Company Secretary in managing Board and Committee affairs, including document preparation, compliance with Board charters, and minute review.
• Oversee the implementation of corporate governance practices across departments.
• Track and monitor regulatory obligations (e.g., BoU, URSB, FIA, AML compliance) and ensure timely filings and disclosures.
• Coordinate Board induction and governance capacity-building sessions in consultation with the Company Secretary.
• Manage Board document archives, resolutions, and execution tracking systems.
• Draft and update governance-related policies and charters under supervision.
• Supervise Legal Officers and oversee the department’s case allocation, performance, and capacity-building needs.
• Lead the induction and mentorship of new legal staff, ensuring consistent case handling standards.
• Ensure compliance with internal legal reporting requirements and SLA obligations.
• Support the Head of Legal in building department-wide legal knowledge management resources
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
| • Bachelor of Laws (LLB), Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice, valid practicing certificate. • Master’s degree in law is an added advantage. • Minimum 5 years’ combined experience in a law firm and regulated institution. • Proven experience supporting Boards, managing governance compliance, and supervising legal teams.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCES • Strong knowledge of governance, banking, regulatory, and corporate law. |
