Nkosilathi Moyo

Managing Director

Nkosilathi Moyo has over 25 years of experience in Microfinance, Banking, and Regulations across Africa. He is a transformational leader who has extensive experience in leading transformation of microfinance institutions into regulated entities. He is currently leading the consolidation and positioning of BRAC Uganda Bank Limited (BUBL) as a Tier 2 regulated Microfinance Bank focused on providing diversified financial services to the people at the bottom of the pyramid in Uganda.

Prior to his appointment as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BUBL, Nkosilathi held various strategic leadership positions with leading international development finance institutions. He served as CEO of BRAC Tanzania Finance Limited, where he spearheaded the transformation of the institution into a regulated entity. He also served as CEO of VisionFund Zambia, where he managed the transformation of the entity from a non-governmental organization to a regulated deposit-taking microfinance. He also served as a Bank Examiner with the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe, responsible for the supervision and regulation of financial institutions. He began his career with Zambuko Trust, an affiliate of Opportunity International in Zimbabwe, where he rose from Branch Manager to Operations Manager.

Over the years, Nkosilathi has received Executive Leadership Development training in Financial Inclusion from Harvard Business School. He also attended the Board Leadership Programmes facilitated by ACCION and attained various certification programmes facilitated by the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management and Boulder Institute of Microfinance. Nkosilathi is a holder of a Master’s in Business Leadership from the University of South Africa.
