Albert began his career in 1986 with the Ministry of Works, Uganda, where he served as a Government Chemist. He subsequently worked with Uganda Breweries Limited and Uganda Electricity Board as Senior Programmer/Systems Analyst and Principal Programmer/Systems Analyst respectively, between 1989 and 1997. He also lectured at Makerere University at the Institute of Computer Science (now College of Computing and Information Sciences) between 1996 and 2000, where he taught Artificial Intelligence, Systems Programming, and Database Management Systems.
He joined Standard Chartered Bank Uganda Limited in 1998 as Head of Business Support. He was appointed Financial Controller in 2004, a position he held until 2007 when he became the Chief Financial Officer and Head of Finance. He served on the Board of Standard Chartered Bank as Executive Director from 2008 to September 2015 when he retired.
Albert has served on the Technical Committee (2005-2007) and Education Committee (2016-to-date) of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU). He has served as a member of the Public Accounts Committee of Kaberamaido District Local Government (2021-to-date). He has also served on the Board of Directors of BRAC Uganda Bank Limited (2019-to-date) as an Independent Non-Executive Director (INED / Chairperson).
Albert is a graduate of Makerere University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry, (1985), and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Computer Science (1987). He also holds a Master of Science Degree in Computer Science from the Obafemi Awolowo University (formerly University of Ife), Ile-Ife, Nigeria (1994).
He holds a professional qualification in Accountancy from the Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants (ACCA) in the United Kingdom obtained in 2003 and was admitted as a Fellow of the Association (FCCA) in 2007. He is also a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) where he was admitted in 2003.
