Arifur Rahman

Arifur Rahman is a results-driven microfinance and banking professional with over 13 years of experience in microfinance, financial inclusion, business growth and digital transformation across Bangladesh and Uganda.

Before joining BRAC Uganda Bank Limited, Arifur held several leadership positions with BRAC Bangladesh, including Lead, Product Development – Microfinance and Divisional Manager, Microfinance Group Lending. In these roles, he led large-scale operations, managed extensive field teams and contributed to the development and launch of national-scale financial products.

Arifur holds an MBA in Business Administration from the University of the People, USA, a Specialist Diploma in Microfinance from the Institute of Inclusive Finance, Bangladesh, and a Master of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Dhaka. He has also undertaken professional training in credit management, sustainability, human-centred design, project management, strategic planning and people management.

With expertise spanning business growth, credit and portfolio management, product development, financial inclusion, risk management and large-scale field operations, Arifur brings a strong combination of strategic leadership and practical experience to advancing inclusive and sustainable financial services.
